Solutions to Common Video Problems
 
If you are unable to view the training video (all that loads is a blank screen), please follow the directions below to remedy the problem.  If you are still unable to view the training after following these directions, please contact Technical Support at the Ethics Administration through the "Contact Us" link above.
 
I. Try Clicking in the Middle of the Screen to "Jumpstart" the presentation
  • If you see a black rectangle in the middle of the screen, try to click on it in order to force the presentation to begin.
  • If the page appears blank between the menu bar and the "Unable to See Video?" link, try to click in the middle of the blank area to get the presentation started.
  • If this does not work, please try the options below.
 
III. Update Adobe Flash Player

1.            Click on the following link and install the latest version of Adobe Flash: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer

2.            After the installation is complete, restart your computer to finalize the installation.

3.            Log-in and try the ethics training again.

 
IV. Make sure ActiveX is Enabled in Internet Explorer

1.       Open Internet Explorer.

2.       Click on the “Tools” menu (either near the upper left or upper right of your screen).

3.       Select “Internet Options” from the “Tools” menu.

4.       Select the “Security” tab.

5.       Select the “Custom level…” button on the “Security” tab.

6.       Scroll down the list until you see “Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins” and “Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting*”.  Make sure that both “Run Active X controls and plug-ins” and “Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting*” are enabled as shown below.

 

7.       Click “Ok”, and click “Yes” when asked if you are sure you want to change the settings.  Then click “Ok” again.

8.       Log-in and try the ethics training again.
